VINCENT OMOIKE Chairman
Vincent Omoike is a professional banker and a Chartered Accountant, having joined the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as a teenager and risen to the highest career position of a Director of the apex bank. He retired in 2003 as the Director, Banking Operations. Omoike, who had a distinguished career, was in 1988 seconded to the Federal Savings Bank when the bank was being commercialized and privatized to set up and restructure the finance, accounts and treasury operations of the bank. He served as Chairman of many strategic committees at the CBN between 1997 and 2003, like, the MICR Implementation Committee which was a sub-committee of the Bankers’ Committee and also the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settle System Plc. The Chairman has attended many courses and seminars both locally and overseas educational and financial institutions which include City University Business School, London and the New York Institute of Finance. He was also on attachments and study visits to a number of overseas central banks some of which are The Bank of England; The Federal Reserve Bank of New York; The Central Bank of Ireland; The Central Bank of Turkey; The Central Bank of Malaysia; The Central Bank of Thailand; The Central Bank of The Philippines and a number of others in Africa. He is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (A.C.I.B.), London; associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (A.C.A.), Nigeria and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (F.C.A). Omoike, who has many publications, particularly, on banking operations to his name is married with children. |
