DR. SULEYMAN ABDU NDANUSA 00N Director
A graduate of Economics from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Suleyman A. Ndanusa, began his banking career in the former Continental Merchant Bank of Nigeria (CMB) from where he left as an Assistant General Manager in 1993. Between then and 1996, he became the Group Managing Director of Empire Group Ltd., a financial services holding company with five subsidiary companies covering finance and investment; stock broking; insurance broking; savings and loan and commodities trading. By 1996, he became the Chairman of the Group, a position he held until 1999 when he was appointed Director-General of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Nigeria where he distinguished himself by introducing changes that aligned the operations of the Commission to international standards. He was the DG at SEC for five years. In 2007, he became the Managing Director/CEO of Spring Bank Plc under the Interim Management Board (IMB) appointed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to run the affairs of the bank. A distinguished professional and ardent scholar, he also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria; a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of Lagos, Yaba; Barrister at Law (BL) Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja and an Honorary Doctorate degree of Literature from St. Clemens University, United Kingdom. He is an authorised Stock Broker of Nigeria; Fellow, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and Member, Board of Fellows. He is also a graduate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (AICSA); an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (AICSA) Nigeria and an Officer of the Order of Nigeria(OON). He has attended many local and international courses including the prestigious Advanced Management Program (AMP), Harvard and others at DC Gardner of London, American Express Bank and Columbia University, New York.
